Academics and Degree Programs

Students can choose from majors from the colleges and from the highest amount of professional schools in the state. The choices range from programs through the colleges including the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Biological Sciences, College of Engineering and the College of Letters and Science.
Schools available through UC Davis include The School of Nursing, School of Law, Graduate School of Management, School of Medicine, School of Veterinary Medicine and the School of Education.

With more than one hundred undergraduate majors that students can choose from and more than ninety graduate programs, students can find a program that suits their skill set, interests and career goals. Students can combine minor and major programs with graduate studies programs to increase the depth of their learning and create a versatile education that is going to prepare them for their chosen career.

Financial Information

Students have the option to obtain traditional funding for the university education through loans and scholarships provided through the federal funding as well as funding that is unique to US Davis students through the form of scholarships and work study programs offered to the student in lieu of traditional federal loans. Students are granted work throughout the term and work for between ten to twelve hours weekly while attending school to gain the additional funding required for the education.

There are two types of scholarships that are available to students at UC Davis, including need based scholarships and scholarships based on merit. Need based scholarships are awarded to students that have applied for federal loans, as one of the requirements to gain the loan. Other scholarships available for students at UC Davis include those based on merit, admission to specific programs or career interests and even personal characteristics. Students can search through the available scholarships online through the UC Davis website, finding matches that are compatible with the needs of the student and are applied for in the between October and January.

Student Life

Whether you have an interest in sports or are searching for a university that is going to allow you to focus the love on sports, there are more than two-hundred programs available throughout the campus. Unique features that are available through campus for UC Davis students include sports programs available through the ARC or more than eighty activities that are available through the craft center. Students can choose from a variety of sports offered at the intramural center or outdoor adventures and the recreation pool designed to keep students active and entertained.
